Mary Flannery's Chicken
How on earth are there no picture books about Flannery O'Connor and her backwards walking Bantam?
And thanks to all who braved the cold and came out to Open Studios this weekend! It was great meeting and talking with all of you and I had a terrific time. If you were interested in fabric, I updated my Spoonflower shop: over here.
Before the Snow Flies
It's getting colder, so naturally the characters in my sketchbook are bundling up. For that matter, so am I (last count: a jersey, one wool sweater, one puffy vest and the day ain't over yet).
And if you're in the area, come say hello this weekend over here.
Let's Take to the Sea
I will never, never, ever get sick of drawing mermaids, no siree.
So in celebration of undersea denizens, I drew this and decided to turn it into a print. If you're a fan of the ocean, I have the print over here and you can get free shipping using this code through November 17. I'm hoping to get a few more prints up before the holidays, so stay tuned on that front.
In Print
I'm over the moon to be included in the Winter 2014 issue of Artful Blogging. I've been a huge fan of the magazine since its inception and it's always a lovely read. Thanks, Stampington for the opportunity to contribute!
And if you're a new reader, howdy and hello.
A Tweed Ride
Saturday I got to bicycle throughout Portsmouth and Kittery with about 40 other nifty individuals, all a part of the Swell Society's Tweed Ride. Vintage rides, natty attire, beautiful weather and delightful company made for an absolutely top notch day. You can read more about it here.
And of course I had to draw a couple of tweedy characters this afternoon.
