Working on some character sketches today.

An overnight trip to MidCoast Maine was just what the doctor ordered (thanks sis for the @youngtowninn gift certificate). Stayed up forever late reading a mystery, ate the best blueberry pancakes ever, poked around Lincolnville and Rockland and spent some much needed time by the sea.

I spent last week up in New Hampshire, teaching at @squamlove -- it was an amazing experience. I was inspired by the beautiful landscape, the boundless creativity and the kindness of everyone I encountered. I'm especially grateful to have shared a cabin with such phenomenally talented artists - @amandamccavour @amytwon @holliechastain @maryannemoodie and @meganivygriffiths .

I've been going through old sketchbooks and came across this page with some They Might Be Giants lyrics.

I love listening to Desert Island Discs and I'm always fascinated by what people choose for musical selections. If you aren't familiar with the show, the premise is that "the castaway" has to choose eight recordings they'd take with them to a desert island and then explain their selections. I waffle about what I'd pick, but They Might Be Giants "Birdhouse in Your Soul" will always and forever be on my list.
