A Place to Start

Messing around with some ideas for a postcard. It's all reaaaaaaaaally rough at this stage and I'm still fussing with composition and color. I'll post more as it moves along. Fingers crossed.

I've been taking a portrait class lately that's been terrific, but pretty darn challenging. I'm three hours into this piece of the model from Tuesday night's class. Some things are starting to click (finally). That said, this needs a whole lotta' work yet.

Reacquainted

Nothing like a massive power outage to throw everything off kilter. At least no electricity gave me a good excuse to bust out the sketchbook over the weekend.

The "Objects of Wonder" exhibit at the Portland Museum of Art is pretty neat. The show runs through June - I give it five stars. And if you go, you can leave your admission sticker outside like all the cool kids are doing apparently...
