A Place to Start

Messing around with some ideas for a postcard. It's all reaaaaaaaaally rough at this stage and I'm still fussing with composition and color. I'll post more as it moves along. Fingers crossed.

I've been taking a portrait class lately that's been terrific, but pretty darn challenging. I'm three hours into this piece of the model from Tuesday night's class. Some things are starting to click (finally). That said, this needs a whole lotta' work yet.

i love the whispiness of the wire and the 'hello' it forms!
and the portrait is looking lovely - i know what you mean with the 'click'ing into place. such an exhilirating feeling!
where are you taking the class?

Love the postcard idea ... especially the inter-connectedness of them all with the classic soup can :)
And the shading in your 'portrait of a lady' reminds me a little of Cezanne. Who was your inspiration?
