I finished "The Diary of a Provincial Lady" last week; it is absolutely hilarious. I'm a big fan of the French governess and her habit of sputtering retorts en français.
I just realized that three of the books I've read in 2009 were ones I read about here. I went to my local library for The Diary of a Provincial Lady and they entire system is void of it. I had to make an interlibrary loan. It's something I do often. All this to say thanks for the great reads I've found because of you.
Also, do you know about the book Breaking Into Freelance Illustration: A Guide for Artists, Designers and Illustrators by Holly DeWolf? Hasn't come to my library or local (rural) book store either.

Glad you've found some good reads! "The Diary of a Provincial Lady" I actually found out about via "The Gentle Art of Domesticity."
I haven't read "Breaking Into Freelance Illustration," but have been hearing lots of great things about it.
